Jubilee
The Jubilee ward is a vibrant mixture of established and new communities. For example, the 1851 census of the area showed it was home to a sizeable Irish community, as well as Scandinavian immigrants who came to work in horticulture.
It is also home to a number of parks and green spaces, including Jubilee park and Cuckoo Hall recreation ground. There is also the Lee Valley leisure complex in Picketts Lock which includes a cinema, restaurants and bars. The athletics centre at Lee Valley has also been recently redeveloped, and will be used as a training facility during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games.
